So I Had To Shoot Him
Alpha Males and Popular Girls
Crucial Blast Records
Rating: 2/5

Apparently SIHTSH have been around for around a decade, yet I've never heard of the band. Their press release compares them to acts like An Albatross, Melt Banana, Daughters, and Blondie. Now I will only agree with the last one, mainly because the lead vocalist is female and her voice does remind me of Blondie's. Besides that, I don't understand why this band is labeled as grind or powerviolence. There is the occasional blastbeat or technical guitar riff that may seem really chaotic, but for the most part, this band seems more like a Danzig rip-off or something similar to that. SIHTSH's tempos are all over the place, but they sure aren't fast enough, frequently enough to get anyone moving along to the songs on this 9-track full length.

So I Had To Shoot Him's roots are definitely in punk rock, and I do find myself getting into some of their songs at times because they do manage to make some catchy beats, but for the most part, "Alpha Males and Popular Girls" just doesn't do it for me. If you want female-fronted chaos, check out this now defunct band called Arabella.
