Killed By The Bull
Killed By The Bull

At first, Killed By The Bull just sounded like a shitty folk/punk band with some annoying vocals to boot. I couldn't wait to give it a negative review, but then it grew on me, and now I find myself enjoying it quite a bit. I happen to be an Against Me! fan, and I find KBTB to sound a bit like AM! at times. Now I'm not saying The Bulls are ripping off Against Me!, but they do sound a bit similar at times on this self-titled record.

The Bulls are a three-piece band and they mix sarcastic lyrics with a voice that reminds me of Tom from Against Me! quite a bit. Anyway, forget about Against Me! KBTB are a bit bass-driven at times, and the music overall is like a mix of punk with some rock 'n' roll and the occassional folk riff or two. It's actually pretty well-written stuff, and it's damn catchy.

Anyway, if you decide to give the band a listen, make sure you give it two or three before disregarding it, because it's really one of those records that you need to hear a few times before getting hooked.
