Interview by Dustin

I got the opportunity to do an email interview with Wes Eisold of Some Girls and Give Up the Ghost (RIP). This is part 2 of 2 of this interview.

Have you been working on any projects besides Some Girls and your book?
A bit. I've been concentrating more on writing and I'm doing a music project with a friend from Holland but it doesn't have a name or anything.

How did you manage to get Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to sing a part on "The DNA Will Have Its Say"?
YYYs played in San Diego and JP asked her ahead of time to come do vocals afterwards and I had a part that I wanted her to do.

How did you guys manage to get onto Epitaph this time around? Did it help having Justin's ties with Epitaph and Anti- through The Locust?
They asked us to work with them. Of course the Locust tie helped. They were geniunely into us too.

What're your top records from 2005?
God I hate this time of year. My brain becomes a miserable sponge and I've only absorbed the records I hated.
Kites- Peace Trials
Earth- Hex...
VMV- lp (I think that was this year?)
Mount Eerie- no flashlight plus dances w/ wolves ep
Six Organs...- School...
Jack Rose- Kensington Blues
Sunn- Black One
Deerhoof- Runners..
Animal Collective- feels
not the new Fall record (unfortunately)

What inspired the art direction you went with for "Heaven's Pregnant Teens"? I noticed you went with Epitaph's designer, Nick Pritchard, this time around. Does the art have a meaning for you guys or was it just some random idea?
Nick actually did the DNA layout too. Pregnant Nuns aren't like, the most meaningful thing ever, but we dig them.

What was the main topic lyric-wise for you with "Heaven's Pregnant Teens"?
Just like, I dunno, the same old crap.

That's about all I can think of to ask you at the moment. If you ever need a place to stay in Los Angeles, hit me up. Do you have any last words to wrap up the interview? Thanks again, Wes!
Thanks for the interview Dustin. Good luck and all that! Wes
