I have a better job for you…

Job For A Cowboy - Doom…and it’s called shutting the fuck up. Job for a Cowboy have to be the worst death metal band I’ve ever heard. The constant growls just get on my nerves so much that I can’t enjoy the songs at all. The overuse of the double bass pedal is another annoyance, and believe me, there’s a lot more. The guitarwork is really repetitive although you can tell the guitarists are trying to be showy. I mean, even song on this EP sounds exactly the same. The only thing I found that distinguishes one song from the others is a very high pitched scream on the 2nd track. Besides that, I can’t tell where one song ends and another starts.

I took the time to check out this band’s MySpace profile and saw that they listed Metal Blade as a label they are signed to. I can’t believe a label as big as Metal Blade signed this crap, but whatever. Everything in this genre is sounding like this now.

I’m just glad I don’t have to listen to this record anymore and I don’t have to write anything else about it. I’m done.

Thought you might find this interesting: http://www.metalblade.com/newssign2004.html

The “CEO” of Metal Blade mentions only their Myspace profile, not their music, in his statement. As far as I am aware, this band did nothing other than promote their Myspace and have a fake SpongeBob Squarepants video made with one of their songs (which has been viewed almost 1,000,000 times). This whole new system of signing bands based on Myspace numbers is fucked.

Wow. I’m going to have to agree with you there. Sounds pretty ridiculous.
