Dear Whoever… over 1000 copies sold?
I don’t know who this Dear Whoever band is, but according to the press sheet that came with their EP, “Sound The Trumpet,” they sold over 1000 copies of this EP on their own before it was put out by Broken Line Records (whoever the hell that is). So I figured I had gotten something good — something worth listening to. I was very wrong.
Dear Whoever do the outdone whiney singing then scream then repeat thing. It’s old, fellas, and it’s not appealing to the ears. Anyway, there’s 6 tracks of this lame “screamo” or whatever you want to call it, full of pitiful lyrics about romance and whatnot. The music doesn’t stand out at all. The vocals seem to just drown out all of the guitars, bass, and druming, but I realized that even if you do try to focus on just the guitars, for example, you’ll be very disappointed. These musicians aren’t that creative… I swear that every track on here sounds just like the last.
The only good thing about “Sound The Trumpet” is the bonus track that they threw on the end of the CD. It’s just a soft instrumental with some synth-type stuff and it turned out really good, although it does end a bit abruptly. So bravo guys for at least making one track that I can stand.

hey hey! i thought these guys were smokin, i imported their CD from HMV and i cant stop listening to it. i think there vocals are whiney– but in a good way i really like to listen to. i think there awsome. keep it up Dear Whoever!
